Welcome to our blog!! 

In a bit more than 24 hours, we will be Finland-bound! 

This blog is intended to share our experiences and impressions of this amazing Nordic country with a focus on their acclaimed education system. 

A few facts: 
Finland consistently ranks in the top ten in the OECD's PISA test rankings (#5 overall in the latest test administration) while the US currently ranks 25th. Finland was also ranked as the happiest country in the world for the past two years according to the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network's 2019 World Happiness Report (the US is currently #19). 

Finland reformed its national curriculum in 2016. In the video below, the head of curriculum development with the Finnish Board of Education describes the rationale for the most recent changes to their basic education curriculum. 

We are excited to share our day-to-day activities and reflections with you during our time in Finland. We hope you will follow along on our journey and pose any comments or questions you may have!
